On the beach The Bourget in the largest and probably
the most romantic lake of France. A few steps away from thelake stands
« Le Bateau Ivre » : a 12th century building-formerly a barn
for salt storage- which has been elegantly restored. In that historical
setting, one is more than eagerto appreciate the great variety of fish.
Youíll find them all on the rich menu along with the local wines of Savoie
: a frying pan of perch fillets with potato salad, a charfish meunière,
trout or crawfish, among others. The main dining room is walled by authentic
stones and wood beams. Youíll be able to enjoy your lunch or dinner in
season by sitting in the shady garden blooming with flowers. The kitchens
are under Jean-Pierre Jacobís supervision. Jean-Pierre Jacob is a young
European restaurateur. His father was one of Franceís master chefs.
In winter, Jean-Pierre Jacob ands his crew work with
the same enthusiasm at « Le Bateau Ivre » of Courchevel located
on the 6th floor of the sumptuous Pomme de Pin hotel where they offer the
same kind of distinctive and elegant cuisine. |
